SMC composite material, known as Sheet Molding Compound, is primarily composed of GF (special yarn), UP (unsaturated resin), low shrinkage additives, MD (filler), and various additives. Originating in Europe during the early 1960s, this innovative process was further developed by the United States and Japan around 1965. In China, advanced SMC production lines and processes were introduced in the late 1980s.
