SMC composite material, standing for Sheet Molding Compound, is composed primarily of GF (special yarn), UP (unsaturated resin), low shrinkage additives, MD (filler), and diverse additives. Originating in Europe in the early 1960s, by around 1965 it was developed further in the United States and Japan. China embraced this advanced technology in the late 1980s, importing superior SMC production lines and methodologies.
